Salomon Trail Ubaye - The Alaris 21km and 1000D + Barcelonnette (dep.04) 08/10/2008

- Date: 10/08/2008

No target if it was getting a good morning in the mountains! I already had the opportunity twice this season to race of this type (see Trail of Hamlets Body 29km 1200D + & Stars Gimel 530D 23km +). This format is perfect for me, I realize my best perfs on his journey.
- Report:
Departure at 8.30 am in the city center to the belltower of Barcelonnette. There are over 250 participants on both courses and hiking ("The Brec," similar to 21km).
Among the favorites for the 44km, William LeNormand in the lead at Trail endurance challenge Solomon , no less!
Ca hand very quickly, I'll keep a look semi pace (13.5 km \ h) on the first 4 or 5 pounds that are relatively flat. I have legs I like the look perfect!
It is only when we least expected it to happen, yet I have read the profile of the race:
On only about 3.8km you will take 1000D +! Ouahhh "In your face Mama! "Looks like George Eddy ... I never much of a market trail, even to Sainté Lyon there were many portions where you could run!
It's frustrating, for almost 1 hour you walk you walk and it's the same for everyone. I was in a group of twenty people. It doubles sometimes but in the end we find ourselves all at about 30 "clearance at the top.
Against by the wonderful scenery, it is in the park of Mercantour, at 2000m, stands high above the valley of Ubaye. Open eyes, open your legs!
Then of course to force up until 2100 should fall to Barcelonnette (1135m)! And 1000D-rebelotte As usual descent, I had to lose at least 20 seats hatred ... especially the guys I doubled at an astonishing rate.
I plafonnais 11 km \ h where you're supposed to see the run to 14 15km \ h 'Dre in the steep! "A point side with me on top of that (I think ... too much to drink the water of course) not to let me go ... I lose minutes and minutes.
I finished with the nerves in 2h14'45 "thanks to a good start to the race.
I have no cramps, breathing is good I could almost go back to 20 terminals but please more downhill!
My ranking 53rd out of 196 entrants. It is already well but frankly I could glean at least 10 to 12 places ...
I know what I have to do for next summer: me train downhill!

To return to the Trail, I decided to put a personal appreciation.
Friend (s) bloggers, if you participated in this event, I invite you to note the race the same way in "comments":
- Interest of the trail: 8/10
=> Beautiful loop with stunning views of the valley of Ubaye and a superb climb to the Col des Alaris.
- Difficulty: 8/10
=> For 21km, about 4km 1000D +! What about the descent ... brittle! That's the spirit Trail!
- Organization: 7/10
=> Markup perfect, smiling volunteers, ravitos ok, a good breakfast, a top organization.
- Price: 6/10
=> 18 € in advance, technical t-shirt and meals, by properly against 23 € on site I find it a bit expensive ... especially for a 21 (same price as the 44km).

You have good reason to make you happy on this type of race. In addition the area is great
And the profile is not bad at all: basically it goes to and then it goes down donf such
fun yourself!
It is clear that the area nice!
Coast but it lacks good ... lol
And if you can run with the nénette Poster ca feel the perf
@ Teddy ...
And yes after the climbs there are often runs
Hello, your great report, I made a less complete http://www.kikourou.net/recits/recit-5929-trail_ubaye_salomon-2008-par-mardouk.html
We had to make a part of the climb together because it ends in the same time, or so I had to have you on the way down because I have dark!
Like you, on my first trail I ranted against monsters that these differences can be downhill when we have toiled uphill, so I worked on this from other races!
hoping to see you on other races,
Julian
Bravo! Very nice this trail, I had made the 44km in 2006 and I had tasted the second bump.
In fact the guy who finished 52nd in front of you a few seconds, it's a good friend of my Triathlon Club! I regret not coming this year ..
In fact I had completely forgotten this trail!
Recycling good, and perhaps soon the night of December!
Oops, my mistake of ranking, I looked at the scratch men only .. So my buddy finished 57th behind you. Here you are assured!
Good as it was his first "trail" ..
Wild how did you manage to forget a trail like this one?? !!
j 'was about 44 at 7 pm and 11 j confess! it was tough, especially the 2 nd mounted on the Alaris. But hey we do not complain because we love the trail .... OLIVIER A +
Aside extra-small sports:
When you see your picture, we understand better the Célia complaints about the lack of upper body musculature. Thick as a rusk the Mick.
And suddenly I understand why you are parades for squash ...
Thank you Loic (uh barbot forgiveness):
I go with the indicap 'max in Australia, not a bit of muscle, white as an aspirin, not understand a word of English ...
I love challenges!!
PS: I will resurrect in the skin of a crack in our turn ...
Yes, as you are late, it's normal to be less advantaged in descentes.Comme bike, what are the "big" when AC down turbines during that lol
Anyway, congratulations for the achievement and effort, merely to see the profile of the race, I have sore thighs!!
