Lifted at dawn 6am towards the valley of Ubaye.
We're in about 2:30 and we have time for a coffee offered at the Museum of St Paul on Ubaye.
We collect the bibs with their prizes: A buff black or red (I took the red in 2010, so I opt for black) and shoe bag "Ubaye Snow Trail."
We are introducing a few races doc in my area (Grand Raid 73, Trail of Oisans, Internships Trail of Jean Marc Taillefer and Trail Team ...).
The atmosphere is good, take pictures with it all is, there are many clubs who have traveled in groups like the Club of Ollioules Trail .
Friends of runnosphère will run the 9km and 250D + with the camera on the front, a little gem this cam, you will be entitled to a beautiful installation by Noostromo ![]()
I would be starting the 22km and 1010D + with beautiful people on the line:
- Julien Chorier (Solomon)
- David Pasquio (Solomon)
- Christophe Malardé (Solomon)
- Beuzeboc Lawrence (Team Nature Trail gap)
- Herve Giraud-Sauveur (Lafuma)
- Francis D'Haene
- ...
Well the top 10 is not playable (and there all my readers will giggle ... what??? I did not level me??!).
Side gear I'm sticking with a NB, a t-shirt long sleeve Nike and Top R-light
The race starts at 10:30 am under a beautiful sun that warms all competitors:
-
We cross the village of St Paul on Ubaye before walking down close to a large and especially icy, it promises! People fall others are trying to double anyway, it's war ...
I stay warm while waiting for the ski base that extends approximately 4km.
The platoon will be able to stretch and each will take its stride, I think 12.5km run to \ h I fear no more because of the beautiful climb 800D + which follows ...
This little rhythm allows me to arrive fresh at the foot of the difficulty of the day after just under 30 'and 5 or 6km.
Brisk walking is the mode adopted and I will glean some places and as far as the slope exentue.
Time passes, the sun is from the game and I never fail to enjoy the magnificent view of the village then Fouillouisse above the large white (is not it vinvin20, the great white!).
We will climb to an altitude of about 2100m and it is pure bliss!
-
The rest will quickly become tiresome, it rises near 1000d + must descend into the shady side of the river, in the shade in a knee-deep snow for several minutes ...
I suffer, I get maybe 10 times but somehow my companions suffer much because I will pick 4 or 5 places in this part? Thank you to my Quechua Diosaz Raid 500 rock hard, I wear only for competitions, they have done a great job!
I got used to drag me into the deep snow to lift my legs, I'm in my garden!
It now remains to 2km flat on the backing track I take in a block before doubling last competitor to 15km \ h!
I finished 48th out of 217 entrants in 2:29. I am pleased with my race though with 4 or 5 km longer I might be won ... still a few places with so ...
