We're back to Millau where Nico, Michael and I attended the first race of the weekend, the Endurance Trail :
- Name: Endurance Trail
- Type: Ultra-Trail
- Location: Millau (Aveyron)
- Distance: 106km on paper, 115km in reality!
- Elevation: 4850D +
- Departure: Friday, 21/10/11 at 4am
- Off times: 22h max.
- Arriving at the cottage on Thursday evening after almost 5 hours drive from Grenoble, we come across a restaurant "at will" where we Let us swallow some unscrupulous pasta dishes!
-
The atmosphere is at the top with two soldiers who did not miss a chance to get out of bullshit!
-
We get our race numbers some time ago with a big helping of stress for me since the change of race had not been done: I was always register on the Templars on Sunday ... It will eventually start number 241. -
After this I pass quickly scrambles for a walk in the living room where I meet Guilhem ( Ultrapoésie ) and his friends. I found my companions and we go put our suitcases. -
The cottage is located 12km from the center of Millau near Larzac. Le Mas de la Bru is a quiet corner where you will thouroughly on eventual damage a short but relaxing enough to get up at 2am towards the starting line. -
Friday, October 21, 2011:
-
We had forgotten the breakfast room, this is a chocolate chip brioche that we swallowed, not quite all that nutritional
-
=> We're on the start line at 3:40, there are 740 enrolled but only 621 will start.
-
The weather is good, no wind but -1 ° c anyway. I'll be able to test a new model of Gore-Tex jacket "ACTIVE SHELL" (test to follow on the blog but runner Greg talking about this here ). -
We are entitled to Era - Ameno , the famous music of the Templars and the smoke which to initiate 4h. -
-
I am with Nico for 10-15km and then I lose it because it stops for a "technical break".
-
- "The Rozier" is the first stop, I'll already much too fast (8.47km \ h) but it is very fast and sometimes we run at 12km \ h on the flat amazing knowing that there is approximately 80 terminals! !

Now we must go on Peyreleau, I'm good, I climb at a good pace, you can feel that I am already more comfortable than on the plateau where we had first place ...
-
- This is the refueling of St Rome de Dolan 37.5 km Guilhem I find that a little backache.
In this regard, I leave the Osteo three days earlier for a sore lower back but just as I feel it constantly, I am completely anesthetized during the race!

-
We will run together until the next plateau where I let go quietly on a new plateau where you run endless run to avoid being overtaken by dozens of runners ... Thanks to Guilhem that time spent discussing everything and nothing
-
- Still no news of Nicolas and Michael, my phone does not ... I found a companion race Hervé de Frejus, a great guy who will motivate me to keep up at least until the 80th ...
-
- Here we are at Pierrefiche km83, 3 instead of KM80, the GPS display all makes about 8 or 9km more? The walk will extend to reach the 115km ...

-
In my head I know I would end on time even if I walk all the way ... unless a big glitch. I'm done, tired legs, back in the sauce but seeing Micka ravito me cheering up especially since it decided to finish with me.
-
The Biz 'will take me to the finish but you must join the firm at KM98 before Cade able to feel it for the team.
-
With Hervé we form the trio and we will give everything running in the penultimate descent and walking strong (well everything is relative) in the last climb ...
-
- The pace is slightly more elevated before the last ravito. 8km from the finish, I'm a big depression, I got drunk. Mick would expect when it starts the same stuff but also Hervé file to end as soon as possible.
The ride becomes tiresome, it's dark you can not see anything, we do not even enjoy the passage of the last cave so drunk by breaking journey with all its bumps ...
"Grenoble is the mountain, we like the Ascent '= the Causses is beautiful but when you went through in uneen current, you would rather see the other kind a little faster bike ... I'd be satisfied of 73km of Great race of the Templars to admire the scenery, it is said! "
We arrive at 7:20 p.m. in place and 208th place on 207 410 arrivals. Nico is following us about 30 minutes after a wild ride for us rattaprer: we have taken in everything from 1h Pierrefiche! He has no hesitation in chambering us on our last hour race mode sheep, but the guy forgets that he is behind Nico ... EXCELLENT!!
David , Virginia , Mary and Christopher join us under the tent to capture the moment = beautiful emotion it makes me happy to see them again since the Trail of the Oisans more importantly at the end of this Ultra madness!
On arrival, happy to finish! Photo credit: runmygeek.com

There Jean Marc who finished in the ... no place since no ranking on the VO2 Trail this year, marking error! Our champion, Francois , the Frero is present as a spectator, because of his injury (I thought of you during the race, Mister Templar ...)
Saturday we return in the afternoon alternating drivers, the return is terribly tiring!
A 2 J, we are stoned, happy but not ready to return to the corner for a while (Lexel promised this time).
In my case I loose a left knee, a slight sprain on the same side and certainly the contracture Hamstrings right ... what more?
After a summer of super I'll make a nice break I rechausserais my HOKA MAFATE end of November

Glad you have started the race completed without much bobo finally, in 15 days you are back on their feet.
You have received encouragement twitter during the race? I also allowed myself to give your number to some fans who wondered about the social network said, I hope you do not hold it against me too.

Congratulations buddy, you're all torn! You surprise me that you will return any time soon I think now you've gone around all that could be done in the corners.
Indeed, you seem to be gone a little fast, you think it would change something if you were gone softer?
Then you need secondhand debreif on your gear and management ravitos over such a long distance.
Take good care of you yes
