Marathon Annecy 2010

I have participated in the marathon last Sunday in Annecy: More than 6,000 participants ran along the lake in perfect weather (15-17 ° c cover approximately).

The departure was quietly given no rush, no lack of space. The organization was perfect again, despite the 2,000 participants than last year!

About my race, I am well positioned to start to cross the line just 20 seconds after the sound of firecrackers.

I have legs, I'm in shape despite the turbulent last three nights (Marty! His terrible teeth that grow) I slept very little and mostly awakened every hour by our little angel ... but I do not feel fatigue

I decided to go a little faster than expected for two reasons incomprehensible:

  1. I know that with my lack of sleep I might take a sudden drop or the famous face as the wall dividing gained some time before to take it with more perspective ...
  2. The return journey is on a slope more difficult, better off with a small lead

I ran the first 10 miles following the first by far the leader of pace in 3h15:

I have a lot ahead of my time but I am so I keep the same pace, I run with a V2 which intends to pass the finish line at 3:20 ET also knows that he will waste time return.

et là je me dis que je suis très largement en avance et que je vais pouvoir baissé le pied pour eviter au max de me taper ce mur. Here it is I can not feel my legs especially my calves and adductors Quadris follow but I have frog legs! I suffer and wilt completely. I want more I want to walk but I stumble on the asphalt and make me eat by dozens and dozens of riders ...

300m from the finish my little woman with Marty expect my little bit: I am putting my arm and walked over to the future champion on my shoulders ... Touching I am really happy to share his arrival, he people around him laugh and smile I say that I finished my third marathon with my baby and certainly not the last!

Time, minutes are far behind me, no matter I'm a marathoner and again I come back to do better ... in the meantime we are enjoying the family arrived and it's good!

I spend online 3h33'37 is more than 10 'of my goals ... I really flinched KM34 just 8km from the finish ...

Finally, why was gone so quickly? Why not stick to the plan is to run until 25/30ème km in 4'50 at km???

=> Because in the euphoria, the excitement of starting the race in the brain (at least my brain) will not answer, my legs are at a pace that they have mastered (I sent all my marathon sessions 4'39 km to wanting to do a little more error).

The last 8 miles, I have not received any signal from my brain and especially my legs left me thinking is brown hairs on the lake!

In short, I am a bit disappointed but in a sense I took much pleasure throughout the weekend on my first two marathons: Taking three days (Monday PC) and enjoy my family, Marty walk under a beautiful sun, to finish the race with him ... well sometimes the best moments are not those posted by our watch thriller or garmin ;)

I am not unmotivated to read, now I am dealing with a large pieces after 15 days off the start of the season Trail and objective (shared with Taz is not it?) The glacier of Les 2 Alpes Sunday July 4.

29th Marathon Annecy - 13/04/2008 - 42.195 km - Annecy (dep.74)

Here is the account of my race last Sunday, the 29th marathon of Annecy

For this second test on the mythical distance, my goal was to beat my 3:45 of spray in June 2007 and more particularly to go under 3:35.

So I opted for a Training Plan Athletes Endurance 604bis with 4 sessions weekly for 9 weeks. I arranged with my group of course: "Ferrié" in reference to the name of the street in which we all live! Raphael Aymeric Alexis and I was often accompanied by 2 or 3 times a week, damn AC drives especially when one is surrounded by experienced amateurs like them, thank you guys!

We insisted on the sessions at threshold + 85% of the VMA with the 1000m and 2000m that were not expecting that to me ... it is awfully good and made me feel more comfortable in my accelerations in the race.

In short, just look at the facts: We arrived Saturday afternoon, deposits bags at the hotel where we learn that there will be showers and breakfast available for runners, cool it! The weather was mixed smells of rain for the next day ... I get my bib No. 155. A tower stands and towards the pasta party at the IMPERIAL PALACE, a luxury hotel where we expect a good last meal.

Anecdotally, we ate near Florence Scaringella who won the marathon last year and will end the first and second in the scratch V1F this year! She gave me very good advice and we highly enjoyed our evening.

A good night's sleep, got up at 6am with a time ... perfect! On the starting line is cool but the sun is already present, I am going on long sleeves and capri anyway but I'm having hot end of the race.

Start at 8:30 am, more than 1,600 registered and a very good mood:

I joined 1 kilo between 5'12 and 4'40 and 4'50 pounds until the 30th (I pass the semi in 1h42'07). No acceleration, I control, I have my pace, I run alone or surrounded by little zen ... but I drop a few arrangements from the 30th where I'll run 5 'from the 30th to the 35th kilo.

The sudden drop happens on the 35th, fortunately it is a "small bar, a club because I am not technical kb and continues at a slower rate during elevated but still, I spent the pound to the finish in 5 '15 5'20 see, I would even sprinting the final 100 meters but I feel my legs weaken ...

I am very happy especially since I see my wife at the finish. I finished 443rd on 1414 arrivals.

And voila new record and what's more I'm down below 3:30, but I dreamed I did not do so before the thirties, it's done!

Next target, half-marathon in Sydney September 21, 2008 which will take place one week after our arrival in Australia ... will follow a year of training with only perhaps a few races in the corners that we cross during our road trip ...

Before leaving, I scheduled a few appointments as the rise of marmots, a cross of 12.5 km near my native village, a trail of 29km and 1200D + and a few other cross ...
